New Name, Old Workers As Buhari Renames Nigeria Prison Service

A bill has been signed into law, which changes the name of Nigeria Prisons Service to Nigeria Correctional Service.

The bill was signed into law by President Mohammad Buhari on Wednesday after passing it's complete hearing.

Ita Enang, Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly matters made this know while speaking to journalists that covered the State house in Abuja on Wednesday.

According to a top government source, who spoke to SaharaReporters shortly after the passing into law of the bill, the move was meant to give Nigerian prisons a new image and make it function more as a correctional institution rather than mere shelter for persons serving jail terms.

Now the question is "has something really changed"? Same people, new name.
