The 1st Assembly has ended after much Political debate and deliberations and the Principal Officers of the 2nd Assembly have emerged after a brief election.
The election for the Principal Officers of the 2nd Assembly has produced Sen. Nwoba Linus representing Faculty of Engineering as the Senate President, Sen. Akude Nicholas representing Faculty of Agriculture as the Deputy Senate President and Sen. Uka Chimaobi as the Chief Whip of the House.
However, the Office of the Clerk of the House remained vacant after an argument arose for the SUG President to be allowed to appoint the Clerk of the House. The Senator representing Faculty of Humanities and the Chief Whip of the 1st Assembly, Sen. Okorie Obinna argued vehemently against it while Senator representing Faculty of Engineering who also served as the Clerk of the 1st Assembly, Sen. Chukwudubem Anointing and the Deputy Senate President of the 1st Assembly, Sen. Emeka argued in favour of the motion.
After the announcement of the results of the election and declaration of winners, the Senate President of the 1st Assembly, Sen. Jerry Udom inaugurated the elected representatives and congratulated them and as well admonished them to serve the students selflessly.
