The birthday celebration was held in conjunction with the Thanksgiving Mass of the Holy Family Chaplaincy at the Holy Family Chaplaincy Building Site.
The celebration witnessed series of events and activities and had several Dignitaries in attendance. Dignitaries present include the Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly (represented), the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Ebonyi State, Former Registrar of the Institution, G.O Chukwu represented by his wife, the Deputy Vice Chancellors, Deans of Faculties, Directors, the Traditional Ruler of the Vice Chancellor's hometown, Umuezeala Nsu. Others present at the event include Lecturers and Students.
The event witnessed series of cultural performance from students and also presentation of different art works made in honour of the Vice - chancellor. The Vice - Chancellor was however awarded the title of Omeroha 1of Holy family chaplaincy by the Holy Family Chaplaincy.
The Vice Chancellor during the birthday celebration called for donations for the building of the chapel and seized the opportunity to generate money for the building of the Chapel.
In his thanksgiving speech he talked briefly on the history of his two names. He said, "I was given birth to on the road because my mom couldn't make it to the hospital while in labour, she gave me the name, Uzoma and my father called me Chinedum.

He said he chose to celebrate his birthday in the church do to what he said after becoming the Vice Chancellor. In his words; "I have come to work and make friends, so that after I've left, it would be said that a child of God passed through here".

He however thanked everyone in attendance and everyone that donated for the work of God to continue.
